Free to use. No credit card, no trial period.

Any subject. Concept detection picks up on whatever your lecturer is covering, whether that's biochemistry, contract law, or computer science.

Live recording and AI term detection require an internet connection for processing. Your saved glossary, session history, and flashcard queue are available to browse once loaded.

You can upload an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A), a slide deck (PPTX, DOCX), or a plain text transcript. Demist extracts concepts from your content automatically.

Check that your browser has microphone access and that the session is recording. If the lecture content is mostly familiar, fewer concepts will get flagged. If it still isn't working, reload and start a new session.

Go to your browser's site settings for demist.app and confirm microphone permission is set to Allow. In Chrome, click the padlock icon in the address bar → Site settings → Microphone → Allow, then reload the page.

Make sure you've started recording in the Demist app first. The extension only shows terms once a session is active.

Yes. Cards always appear on whichever tab you're currently on. Switch to your lecture slides, your notes, or anywhere else and concepts will keep showing up there.

The extension only injects into tabs that load after it's installed. Refresh any tab that was already open before you installed Demist and concept cards will start showing on it.

Yes, as long as the audio is going through your microphone. Start recording in the Demist web app, join your Zoom or Teams call, and concept cards will appear on top of whatever tab you're viewing.

Select the extracted folder named demist-extension, not the zip file itself. In Chrome's extensions page (chrome://extensions), enable Developer mode with the toggle in the top right, click Load unpacked, then navigate to and select the demist-extension folder.

Your data is tied to your account and not shared. Audio is processed for transcription only and isn't stored after the request finishes.
